Today's topic : Create a collage or inspiration/mood board that describes your blog.

Everyone discovers encouragement whether that be through a creative outlet, through friends/family, quotes or bible verses.  Inspiration for my blog stems from these eight photos. :)

+ Faith
+ Missions
+ Novels
+ Nature
+ Family ties
+ Style
+ Coffee dates
+ Travel

...because I simply cannot possibly write this post without elaborating a bit further on each of the above mentioned topics for the vision of my blog, below are my thought processes for each area of focus if you choose to read more in depth. :)

+ Faith || This one is first and foremost because I am continually growing in my faith and striving to live a Christ-centered life.  With the word of God so readily available at my fingertips, I am reminded to prayerfully dig deeper into a relationship with Him.  To utilize my passions for His glory.  To transform my heart to seek Him in all things.  One of my absolute favorite verses, in the photo, is Isaiah 40:28-31 "The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

My hope is that visitors of this blog are able to find inspiration and perhaps a place to connect and relate with others, and leave this blog with a stronger desire to live a life based on comfort in the Lord and an optimistic lifestyle.

+ Missions || These experiences have changed my life and changed my heart.  Each time I go + serve I come back with a new-found love for God's people and an even more passionate heart for orphans.  The villages we have served in, the schools and churches we have been a part of, the mission teams all combined have been truly incredible.  I have learned that no matter the situation, God is there, He is constant, and unfailing.  Also, I have never seen people worship so intentionally and prayerfully than when I am on these missions.  I am SO proud to serve His Kingdom.

+ Novels || This stack of books are on my "to-read list".  I have dipped into all of them for quick bits of inspiration and am excited to read them cover to cover!  Reading novels gives me writing inspiration, how I want my words to come across to the reader, the mood I hope to convey to the reader.  If you have any suggestions, comment them below!

+ Nature || Those who know me, know I LOVE being outdoors.  I love basically any body of water, mountains, flowers, gardens, you name it.  These beautiful lilacs are at my mom's and while they only bloom for a short period of time, they are stunning when they are fully bloomed!  My dad also had lilacs at his house so every time I smell lilac, I think of my parents.  :)

+ Family ties || My family is a huge inspiration for me.  This includes family friends as well!  I am blessed to have some of the most loving people in my life.  I could not be more thankful for the people God has placed in my life.  The inspiration of family also ties along with starting my own family one day.  Currently I am praying myself through a season of singleness with a very strong desire to marry and have children.  For the ladies who are in a similar situation, you know this struggle.  I absolutely adore kids and know that God has someone special for me, when the time is right I will finally meet this man of mine and be blessed by the gift of marriage.

+ Style || My style inspiration has to do with two different things, fashion and style of my blog.  I love minimal, simple, light, and neutrals.  I try to keep this theme throughout my blog as well as with my fashion choices.  Currently, my fashion obsession is a nice heather gray shirt or a beautifully crafted kimono with very dainty jewelry choices.

+ Travel || Whether it be by plane, car, train, boat, I love to travel.  I love meeting new people, diving into new cultures, tasting different foods, gazing upon a new scenery.  My love for airports is quite possibly odd to some people haha.  I'm not lying when I say I would love to work at an airport simply for the environment.  I think it's just the overall energy of airports and my curiosity of where people are headed that exhilarate me.  All of these flights coming and going in all sorts of directions of the world just increases my curiosity.

+ Coffee dates || Ask any of my friends, they will tell you that my first idea for hanging out will include a coffee shop of some sort.  I'm a huge fan of fancy latte art but am definitely not against a good gas station french vanilla cappuccino!  Coffee is coffee to me. ;)  The whole inspiration behind coffee dates for my blog has to do with just that, a coffee date.  I would love for visitors to feel like we are chatting over a nice cup of joe.

Ultimately, I want my blog to be a place of open conversation, friendships formed, hope shared and God's light shining. :)

Where do you find the most inspiration?  What would be included on your inspiration board?

  2. LOVE all of these things!! I love traveling but I haven't quite conquered my fear of flying, haha. Any tips?? ;) I LOVE mission work and i'm learning that every single day no matter where we are, we are on mission! so proud to serve Him as well!! xoxo

    1. Amen girlie! Whether it be within our own home or halfway across the world, we have the opportunity to serve. :)

Hmm...a few tips on flying: don't be afraid to ask where your gate is, dress in COMFY clothes, invest in a nice compact document holder for passport, tickets etc, if your flight has open seats ask the flight attendant if you can switch to an open row (to stretch out), oh and always carry gum with you just in case your ears begin to pop haha.
