Merry Christmas lovelies! I was really hoping for a white Christmas this year, but 48 degree weather was okay too I guess. ;) No matter, I absolutely love this time of the year. The atmosphere is full of so much joy, love and giving. Sure, you have your occasional stressed out shopper or two, but what is the holiday season without a little challenge right? This is my first Christmas at my own place which feels both exhilarating and a little odd as I woke up to an empty place Christmas morning. But nonetheless, I love Christmas and all the feels. I spent my day with a lot of my family and finished the night watching Star Wars at a movie theater in my hometown. :)

Christmas Day is a really bittersweet time for me and a lot of my family as well. My dad, born on Christmas brought so much love and so much joy to those around him. He truly encompassed what it means to Love God and Love People. As my grandma says, my dad never said goodbye without giving a hug. As his friends say, Scotty was such an incredible dad and friend. As I say, his love for me still encourages my heart to be the best person that I can be. He definitely left a lasting legacy. To celebrate Christmas/his birthday without his physical presence is a tough feat to say the least. I find myself fighting back tears at the most random times. Shoutout to my grandparents for being the biggest blessings on this emotional day. They are so strong and embody the meaning of keeping a strong faith.

I am thankful to have incorporated some of my dad and I's old traditions this year from when I was a little girl, such as having a real tree. It makes me feel closer to him this holiday season and has me all sorts of excited for my own children and to have even more fun traditions with my own family someday!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

[Isaiah 9:6]

I am so thankful for the love of Christ. For the sacrifices He made on that cross. For the blessings God has provided for me and so many others around me. I am thankful that He heals and by His gracious heart, he forgives. What a God we serve!

Everlasting. Hopeful. Sovereign.

Wishing you and your family the best Christmas Day and a blessed New Year. What are your family traditions? Share them below, I would love to hear them. :)
