What is your favorite quote or verse that reminds you to be grateful?

One of my many favorite verses is John 10:10 and it is the first one that came to mind for this question.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

The reason this verse came to mind when it comes to the subject of being grateful is because of the kindness and gracious heart of our Lord and Savior. What did we do to earn the opportunity to have life and have it abundantly? Jesus died for us, God sacrificed His one and only Son for our sins. For that, I am grateful. For that, I choose to live in a way that represents an unashamed faith. For the days when I struggle to stay on this walk of faith or when trials or temptations come my way I pray that my heart stays constant in the pursuit of Christ.

Who are you grateful for?

My brothers and sisters in Christ. I am grateful to have people who remind me to stay on the path to eternal life. Without the support of these awesome people my faith would certainly become stagnant. To see others in pursuit of God's own heart inspires me to fiercely love Him and to recognize the promises that God has for each and every one of us. So, thank you friends and family for being a shoulder to lean on, a truth-speaking bunch and for the beautiful reminders that I am loved.

What life events are you grateful for?

Birth - Okay, so this may be an odd answer but let's be real, in reality if it wasn't for my parents finding each other and having me I would not be where I am today in this world.

The years before my parents separated - My parents divorced when I was three years old. No, I do not necessarily remember these times; however, my mom dad and sister all documented our life together on video. I treasure these home videos with all of my being. We made a ton of fun memories together that will last a lifetime!

The time spent individually with mom and dad - It is amazing how much a moment in time that you sort of just passed by can mean SO much later on in life. Since my parents weren't together, I had the opportunity to spend time with each of them separately. As much as I would have loved them to be together, I worked with what I had been given.

Father Daughter memories - To me, this is a life event in itself. I had nine years with my dad before God called him home. Something that still stings to this day, but I put my trust in God and His promises that someday we will meet again. Oh, what a glorious day that will be!! I miss my dad and his abundant love for life. He was truly an incredible man. Ask me about him and my heart melts, I could talk about him until your ears fall off. :)

Heartbreaks - Again, an odd answer. But I have an explanation. I have had two "serious" relationships in my life up to this point. Each one I ended for particular reasons and at the time, it sucked. It was terrible. I have now been single for four years and have grown soo much in this time. I have come to know Christ and want to continue to dig deeper and deeper into my faith. I have found joy in being independent, without relying on a boyfriend, to actually do things and make decisions for myself. And if the Lord allows for it, to prepare my heart for a MAN that will come into my life and make me realize how much the wait was worth it.

What is something you are grateful for but often times don't think about?

The first thing that came to my mom raising me as a single mother. We have had our fair share of differences over the years. And by fair share I mean quite a few to be completely honest. Now that I am older, I realize just how much my mom did for me growing up and how much of an inspiration she is to be a hard-working independent woman. Sure, we are different people but I will always love her no matter how much we can get on each others' nerves. (lol) She picked me up when emotionally I was torn down over the course of the past years. So thank you momma. You are loved and appreciated.

What are you going to do to show people your gratitude towards them?

For starters, tell them how much they mean to me. I think it is important for those people who have made an impact in your life to know how much you are grateful for them. It is very endearing for those people to know their importance. There are an incredible amount of people in my life that have made a huge difference in my upbringing and for that I could not be more grateful.
