Friday, September 2: Share a list of your current goals.

The power of setting goals. Whether the goals be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly it helps to keep our busy lives a bit more on track doesn't it? The one thing I try to tell myself when making goals is this: Do not beat yourself up about not being able to check every single item or "to-do" off the list quite yet. Maybe it is simply not in the books for you at this point in time, maybe there simply was not enough time to complete everything this month or perhaps it is not a part of God's plan. To which I then believe prayer plays a huge part in discovering what it is the Lord is leading you to.

I began a new monthly goal series in August
+ Finish reading current book When God Writes Your Love Story by Eric and Leslie Judy (and read one more book)
+ Write meaningful, authentic, heartfelt posts (aka continue to strive for vulnerability)
+ Begin bible journaling
+ Maintain fitness routine
+ Create a prayer wall (I am VERY excited about this one. Ever since watching War Room I have wanted to create a dedicated prayer space. Any suggestions on what verses to include??)
+ Get involved in a new bible study
+ Try four new recipes (I have two in mind already: Pepperoni Pizza Twists and Chicken stuffed with Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil - on that note, I would also love to reorganize my recipe card box - anyone else let that sort of pile up and clutter itself without intentionally trying to?)
I receive so much satisfaction from list-making as it keeps me organized. So this is a great exercise for me not only for achieving goals but also to remind myself that just because I did not complete a task or two does not mean I should be overwhelmed or discouraged. Sometimes we depend on our to-do's too much and forget to actually live in the moment.

+ Intentionally invest time in making my dreams come true and glorifying God

+ Continue to stay active with BBBS, volunteering my time and efforts

+ Volunteer with the Rescue Mission

+ Spend 5 minutes in prayer each morning

+ Complete the blogtember challenge with grace and sharing my hope filled heart for the Lord

I would love to hear what your monthly goals are and what God has placed in your heart to do! It's a beautiful thing when we act on where we feel God is calling us to and how He wants us to glorify Him through it.

P.S. I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY that September is here. Fall is full of so many of my favorite things and northeastern Indiana has had "fall-ish" weather that past couple of days. It's been glorious. :)

  1. I love your goal of writing meaningful & heartfelt posts. It can be tough sometimes but it's so worthwhile!

    1. It's so true Meghan! Writer's block never helps either haha.

  2. How did you like When God Writes Your Love Story? I have loved the Ludy's writing since high school so i own most of their books and love Leslie's website, where she and other Christian gals post challenging/inspiring articles.

    1. I'm really enjoying the book so's been really inspiring and definitely has that "Ludy" twist on it. Their writing is so relatable and genuine, I love it. Thanks for sharing her website Elle! I'm definitely going to check it out.
