I had a reality check recently. A moment of realizing how I was taking advantage of what I am privileged with. I was choosing to focus on some of life's inconveniences rather than the daily affirmations that God is present providing blessings, even when it doesn't seem like it. The reality is, we don't deserve God's grace and it is not earned.

We are blessed with a variety of things because that's just the heart of the God of this universe, simply because He loves us more than we can even imagine.

So when we experience these life inconveniences, which we all do from time to time, what do we do with them? We have a choice to either let them control us and our reactions, try to control them ourselves or recognize that perhaps there is a lesson or two to be learned from them and rely on God to carry and guide us through to the end.

Find appreciation and act on it.

When you are at a loss of what to do, seek the One who restores the lost.

He is faithful.

Currently I am in the middle of a travel job assignment for physical therapy. To say this was an easy transition would be a total lie. My first week and a half here was just plain hard. I hit some very low moments that made me hit my knees and bow my head with tears streaming down my face. It was a lot of change in a short time both work wise and living wise.

I reached a point of turning my adversities to appreciation and finally putting them to action by finding small ways to spread a little more light to those who are also experiencing some of the inevitable adversities that come their way.

Leave quarters on the washer next to yours for the next person with a kind note.
Pray with someone who you know is having a particularly hard day.
Donate to a local charity, whether that be your time or monetarily.
Bring a warm drink to a Salvation Army bellringer.
What else can you think of?

And then I remembered...all the inconveniences I am currently facing are only temporary. Isn't that true for all of us though? Someday all of these earthly things and adversities will no longer be with us. All of the grief, the pain, the heartbreak, the sicknesses and diseases will all be gone and we will be restored.

1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Eventually you begin to appreciate the difficult times because you survived the storm with God holding your right hand the entire time. You are stronger than you think, my friend.

All glory to God. I do not know what I would do without my faith. Ever have those moments of thanking God for just being Him in all that He was, is and all that He will be? I certainly do.

My heart felt so strong about sharing this because I am sure there are others out there who tend to focus on the negative side of things or what it is that's not going their way. I am so right there with you.

Seek Him and begin to replace your difficulties with opportunities to serve and your heart will be transformed.
