Sometimes I set this super high bar for myself, almost holding myself to a standard of perfection. Which in turn can hold me back from pursuing new endeavors. But the thing is, perfection does not exist. Instead, continued practice leading up to the goal that seems unreachable creates growth, newfound strength and stamina to keep going and to continue setting goals. It's the journey, not the destination that matters most. Whether it be a new year or simply a new day.

His mercies are new every morning.
& His love never ceases.
Lamentations 3:22-23

With the new year, most everyone is on the "new year, new me" kick. Which is great! However, let's not forget that in order to achieve those resolutions or to fulfill the word of the year, we must continually work at it with endurance.

It's also important to remember that there will be times of setbacks and discouragement. That's where your faith comes in and having a supportive community of people surrounding you and your biggest dreams.

My goal for this year is to live the abundant life God calls me to live. Meaning: accepting what is but also realizing that we serve a big God and that He can do powerful things in and through us. Living a full life in Him. To live out my word for this year I must remain steadfast in my faith and be courageous.

I was inspired to write about this when I was reading my Jesus Calling devotional the other day. An excerpt:

I want you to learn a new habit. Try saying, "I trust you, Jesus" in response to whatever happens to you. This simple practice will help you see Me in every situation, acknowledge My sovereign control over the universe. Adverse circumstances become growth opportunities when you affirm your trust in Me no matter whatYou receive blessings gratefully, realizing they flow directly from My hand of grace.

How awesome is that? The adversities we face, the obstacles, the low points are actually our time to shine. Sure, it would be easier to go through life without any bumps in the road or challenges to overcome; however, where would the growth be? Where would the greater appreciation for the highs be?

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

Open the door to growing + learning through life's challenges in pursuit of your God sized dreams.

Join me in learning to be steadfast in faith, courageous in setting goals and having the endurance to overcome obstacles that enter the path along the way.

We got this.
